BRIEF: Police in Chesterfield Township searching for man who robbed a couple at gunpoint

Nov 20, 2012 (Menafn - Detroit Free Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Chesterfield Township police released a surveillance photo today of a man who they said robbed a couple at gunpoint inside their vehicle after they agreed to give him a ride Nov. 7.

The man approached the couple about 1 a.m. Nov. 7 in the front waiting area of Buffalo Wild Wings, 51346 Gratiot, after the pair finished a meal.

The couple said he asked for a ride to a Meijer store, where he said his friends were going to pick him up. The couple apprehensively agreed and drove him across Gratiot to the store, police said.

While parked at the store, the man -- who was in the backseat -- pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the couple in the front seat and demanded their belongings. Police said the couple gave him phones and cash before he ran toward Gratiot.

The man is described as black, in his early 20s, 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a slim build and a beard and moustache. He was wearing a knit skull cap, dark clothing and tan work boots.
