BRIEF: Liberty Tax parent holds first public meeting

Nov 17, 2012 (Menafn - The Virginian-Pilot - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --VIRGINIA BEACH -- JTH Holding Inc., parent company of Liberty Tax Service, on Friday held its first annual shareholder meeting since going public in June.

Four people were elected to the board of directors, and KPMG LLP was ratified as the company's independent registered public accounting firm for fiscal year 2013. About 20 people attended.

Chairman and CEO John Hewitt stuck to a brief script in which he touted the company's accomplishments as it begins its 15th year.

"Fiscal year 2012 was a year of success in an economy that has been less than friendly to small businesses," Hewitt said. "We are well on our way to being the No. 1 tax preparation service by 2020."
