Police seeking women who attacked waitress
Jan 25, 2013 (Menafn - The Free Lance-Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Fredericksburg police are looking for three young women who pummeled a waitress early Friday after the waitress identified a patron engaged in underage drinking.
The incident took place at about 12:55 a.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings in Central Park.
The waitress, a 19-year-old Spotsylvania woman, was finally rescued by a man who picked her up and carried her away from the beating. She had been hit in the face and had chunks of hair pulled out prior to the rescue.
According to city police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe, the restaurant checks identification at the door and puts a mark on the hands of patrons who are under 21. The waitress noticed a woman with the mark drinking alcohol and notified security, and security personnel escorted the woman out of the business.
A short time later, the waitress was cleaning a table when she was confronted by three friends of the woman who had been put out. One woman punched her in the head, and the other two jumped in and began punching her in the face and pulling out her hair.
The waitress was checked by the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad, but declined to be taken to the hospital.
The woman's attackers were described as black females in the early 20s. One had long hair in a "weave style" and was wearing a red pea coat, while another was described as being 5 feet tall, 145 pounds with long, straight hair.
Bledsoe said the 30-year-old Woodbridge man who came to the waitress's aid also got the license number of the car the women left in, a white or silver Nissan.
It was the second night in a row that there was an altercation at Buffalo Wild Wings that required police intervention. Early Thursday morning, police responded to a fight in the parking lot involving two groups of people.
One group was gone by the time police arrived, and a woman who'd been slammed onto a car told police there was no exchange or words or reason for the assault. No arrests have been made.
