BRIEF: Rupee slips after RBI policy

MUMBAI, Dec 18, 2012 (Menafn - Mint - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --The Indian rupee opened higher on Tuesday against the dollar in early trade on Tuesday, but fell in later trades.

The partially convertible rupee opened at 54.71 per dollar compared with Monday's close of 54.86. But the currency slipped to 54.79 after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept the repo rate and the cash reserve ratio unchanged in its mid-quarter monetary policy review.
