BRIEF: Seabeck man killed in Anderson Hill Road crash

Apr 22, 2012 (Menafn - Kitsap Sun - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --CENTRAL KITSAP -- High speed and alcohol appear to have contributed to an early Sunday morning car crash that killed a 23-year-old Seabeck man on Anderson Hill Road.

According to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, the man was the passenger in a 2003 Volkswagen GTI that struck and severed a utility pole and a tree on Anderson Hill between Olympic View and Willamette Meridian roads at about 2:30 a.m.

The man, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.

The 22-year-old driver, also a Seabeck resident, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.

He was arrested for vehicular homicide. Deputies believe he was intoxicated and traveling faster than the speed limit.

It appeared he lost control of the car along a curved stretch of the road. The passenger side door of the car struck the utility pole. The car then went through a tree and came to rest against several trees on the roadside.
