Mechel OAO reports re start of mining activities at Sibirginsk Mine, Russia

May 07, 2012 (Menafn - M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) --Russian mining company Mechel OAO MTL announced on Friday the resumption of mining operations at Southern Kuzbass Coal Company OAO's Sibirginsk Mine following the June 2011 suspension due to coal self-heating in the mined-out area.

The company said it has completed the assembling of a new mechanized complex at Sibirginsk Mine's long wall face number 3-1-9.

According to the company, the mineable reserves of coal at the long wall face are estimated at 1.5m tonnes, with the breakage face due to produce some 100,000 tonnes monthly.

All required documents for the long wall face's operations have been obtained, added the company.
