BRIEF: Best Buy can't get its own Black Friday ad link right
Nov 16, 2012 (Menafn - The Oregonian - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Best Buy posted a statement on its web page recently, telling folks the big news about its Black Friday offers.
"Best Buy is excited to offer a sneak preview of our Black Friday deals for customers. Our wide product assortment, knowledgeable staff and competitive prices already offer shoppers a reason to choose Best Buy this holiday season. And now, we're also sharing our Black Friday offers earlier than ever, so shoppers can plan ahead for as they work through their gift lists. Customers can visit www.blackfriday.BestBuy.com to view the deals. Stores open early -- at midnight on Friday, Nov. 23."
Problem is, that link doesn't work.
Someone at the consumer electronics company forgot to type the "S" in the actual secure address. Been that way for a few days now...
Best Buy Co., which has faced increased competition from discounters and web stores dealing in electronics, has seen sales decline in recent years. A new chief executive was named in August to turn the company around.
Even if it can't get its links right, shoppers are still feeling the love for Best Buy's Black Friday deals. At least two California women lined up on Wednesday in hopes of nabbing the retailer's Black Friday flat-screen offer.
