BRIEF: Nordstrom Rack to open at Warwick Mall Thursday

Nov 07, 2012 (Menafn - The Providence Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --WARWICK, R.I. -- Nordstrom Rack, the discount arm of the high-end Nordstrom Inc., will open its new store at Warwick Mall Thursday at 9 a.m.

Domenic Schiavone, general manager of the mall, said that the opening will be preceded by a rally with music and refreshments in the new Nordstrom wing of the mall. He said that the rally will begin at 7 a.m. and will include a raffle where one person will be chosen for the "Race through the Rack."

That winner will have 90 seconds to run through the store and gather what merchandise he or she can, he said.

The new store is more than 37,000 square feet and 70 new employees were hired from the community, according to Nordstrom.
