UniSource Energy announces approval by shareholders for new company name

May 07, 2012 (Menafn - M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) --Energy company UniSource Energy Corporation UNS disclosed on Friday that its shareholders approved its name change to UNS Energy Corporation at the annual meeting.

The company said that its new name and a new logo will strengthen its brand identity, differentiate it from companies with similar names which are not related to it and its principal operating subsidiaries Tucson Electric Power and UniSource Energy Services will not be changing their names.

Further, after the company's amended articles of incorporation are filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission the new name will become effective, this change is not part of any merger or acquisition, the current management team remains intact and the New York Stock Exchange ticker symbol UNS will continue.

Also, the company's website domain remains "uns.com," the validity or transferability of any currently outstanding stock certificates are not affected, nor are shareholders required to surrender or exchange any stock certificates they hold.
