Also today, a nonstop AirTran Airways flight to Denver that began June 3 becomes a Southwest flight.
Eventually, all AirTran flights and operations at Akron-Canton Airport will become Southwest flights, but there is no set date. Southwest purchased AirTran.
AirTran will continue to have 12 daily nonstop flights. Today, two AirTran daily Milwaukee nonstop flights will cease.
The carriers will share ticket and gate locations, marked for both Southwest and AirTran, and all employees will work for Southwest.
