Gemalto selected by Vodafone to setup and manage global NFC Mobile Payment Services

Oct 29, 2012 (Menafn - M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) --Gemalto , a provider of digital security, said today that it has been selected by Vodafone Group, a mobile communications service provider, to provide and operate its global Trusted Service Management (TSM) platform and deploy NFC services solutions.

The company said that this multi-year global contract, financial details of which were not available, will provide the foundation for secure and convenient 'wave and pay' contactless transactions via mobile phone, as well as new services demanding the highest levels of security and integrity.

Included in Gemalto's integration is the Allynis TSM service platform, a complete solution that ensures mobile payment end-to-end security encryption between financial institutions and mobile operators and the company's UpTeq NFC high-end card product.

Gemalto, as supplier and systems integrator for Vodafone's international project, will provide for the launch of a range of services that can address subscribers located in all the countries where Vodafone Group operates, supporting this programme, Gemalto's solution will allow both Vodafone subsidiaries and third party service providers such as banks, transport operators and retailers to seamlessly plug into a secure and reliable NFC ecosystem.
