ABU DHABI - Shaikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi Minister of Economy and Commerce has issued a decree stipulating establishment of high council for co-coordinating economic plans and programmes in UAE. Based on Council of Minister's decision No. (332/2 of 2004) authorising the minister to form the said committee.
The Ministry was authorised to coordinate with the bodies concerned to form a high council, which will coordinate policies between the emirates in UAE.
This comprehensive economic vision for UAE is in addition to mechanisms that would encourage local and foreign investments The decree stipulated appointment of Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Economic Department as representative of Abu Dhabi emirate; Mohammed Al Abar, Director General of Economic Development Department, as representative of Dubai emirate; Shaikh Mohammed bin Qaied Al Qasimi, Deputy Director of Economic Development Department, as representative of Ras Al Khaimah emirate; Shaikh Tariq bin Faisal Al Qasimi , Chairman of Economic Development Department ,as representative of Sharjah emirate; Shaikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Economic Development Department, as representative of Ajman emirate; Shaikh Ali bin Rashid Al Mu'ala, Chairman of the Economic and Development Department as representative of Um Al Quwain emirate; and Shaikh Saleh bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Industrial and Economic Department, as representative of Al Fujairah emirate.
The decree also stipulated that Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, assistant under secretary for Economic Affairs in Ministry of Economy and Commerce, as Secretary of the Committee.
