Outside cable, it's bad news

Nov 07, 2012 (Menafn - The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --Australian-listed global media group News Corporation has announced an increase in revenue of 2% in annual terms for the first quarter of 2012-13, to US8.14bn. However, experts note that apart from the very strong contribution of the cable TV assets with a rise of 16% to US2.45bn, the other divisions of the company are struggling to perform. The operating income of the print media assets declined 48% to US57m, while revenue in the filmed entertainment operations was also down 2%. News is set to spin off the print media business in mid-2013.
