Ten Arrested in Drug Sweep

Nov 02, 2012 (Menafn - Shelbyville Daily Union - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --SHELBYVILLE, Ill. -- Six of 10 arrested in a warrant sweep Thursday appeared in Shelby County Court Friday afternoon before Judge Daniel Hartigan.

On Thursday, November 1, Shelby County State's Attorney Deborah Riley, in coordination with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, Shelbyville Police Department, Illinois State Police Zone 5 Investigations, Central Illinois Enforcement Group, U.S. Marshall Service, Pana Police Department, and Windsor Police Department conducted a warrant sweep.

The purpose of the detail was to arrest multiple persons wanted on warrants for methamphetamine-related charges. These charges stem from a seven-month investigation into methamphetamine production in the Shelby County area conducted by all agencies.

According to Riley, the sweep involved three different operations.

Ten subjects were arrested during the detail. All the defendants were transported to the Shelby County Detention Center for processing.

Appearing in court Friday were:

- Rachel Price of Shelbyville, charged with two counts of Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Class 1 and Class 2 felonies. She is being held on 100,000 bond and is being represented by Walter Lookofsky.

- Marti Edwards of Shelbyville, charged with two counts of Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Class 1 and Class 2 felonies. She is being held on 50,000 bond. Public Defender Robert Swiney was appointed to represent her.

- Kelly Dressen of Pana, charged with two counts of Methamphetamine Conspiracy, both Class X felonies, She is being held on 50,000 bond. She intends to hire her own attorney.

- Arnold Williamson of Windsor, charges with Methamphetamine Conspiracy, a Class 1 felony, and Unlawful Possession of Pseudophedrine, a Class 4 felony. He is being held on 75,000 bond. Public Defender Robert Swiney has been appointed to respresent him.

-Darla Ingram of Windsor, charged with two counts of Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Class 1 and Class 2 felonies. She is being held on 50,000 bond. William Farr has been appointed to represent her.

- Shane Pryczynski of Shelbyville, charged with Unlawful Possession of Weapon by a Felon, a Class 3 felony, and Unlawful Sale or Delivery of Firearm, a Class 3 felony. He is being held on 75,000 bond. He intends to hire his own attorney.

Also arrested were:

- Andrew Cable of Springfield, charged with two counts of Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Class X felonies. He is being held on 100,000 bond.

- Sherry Niemeyer of Charleston, charged with Methamphetamine Conspiracy, a Class X felony. She posted bail.

- Erica Hawker of Windsor, charged with two counts of Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Class 1 and Class 2 felonies. She posted bail.

- Pamela Williamson of Windsor, charged with Methamphetamine Conspiracy, a Class 1 felony, and Unlawful Possession of Pseudoephedrine, a Class 4 felony. She is being held on 75,000 bond.

These four are awaiting court appearance.

The following individuals remain at large: Douglas Price and Blake Hankins, both of Shelbyville, and Davina Butler of Charleston.

"Law enforcement in Shelby County teamed together to tackle a recurring methamphetamine problem in central Illinois," said ISP Lieutenant Tad Williams, Zone 5 Commander. "The effort put forth by all officers assigned to this multi-agency investigation was incredible. This round-up speaks volumes of the dedication spent targeting this issue and preserving the safety of our citizens."

Shelby County State's Attorney Deborah M. Riley stated that she is "proud to be working with local law enforcement agencies ad the Illinois State Police in curbing the influx of guns and drugs into Shelby County communities."

The public is reminded that criminal defendants are presumed innocent until the government is able to prove its charges in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
