BRIEF: MEMC names Hernandez new board chairman
Dec 28, 2012 (Menafn - St. Louis Post-Dispatch - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --MEMC Electronic Materials has tapped Emmanuel Hernandez as its new chairman of the board, effective Dec. 31.
Hernandez, a board member of the O'Fallon, Mo.-based maker of silicon wafers for the solar and semiconductor industries since 2009, succeeds John Marren, who is retiring from the board after 11 years. Director William Stevens also is retiring from the company's board on Dec. 31.
Board member Marshall Turner has been appointed chairman of the company's audit committee succeeding Stevens, MEMC said in a statement.
Bloomberg News also is reporting an MEMC subsidiary, SunEdison, has sold two solar power projects in Ontario to Canadian Solar Inc. for 37 million. Read more of the Bloomberg report here.
