Sonic to review takeover offer

Oct 11, 2012 (Menafn - The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) --Sonic Healthcare will reconsider its plan to acquire the Queensland pathology assets of Healthscope. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission approved the acquisition of Healthscope's Western Australian pathology assets. However, the regulator decided that competition would be significantly reduced by the acquisition of the Queensland business. Sonic will consider restructuring the offer.
