Back-down won't hurt us: Incitec

Nov 04, 2012 (Menafn - The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --The Damper Nitrogen development in the Pilbara region of Western Australia has been abandoned by explosives manufacturer Incitec Pivot. Higher input costs are being cited as one of the reasons for the decision, which comes despite main rival Orica going ahead with its project in the area. Incitec maintains it still has a contract in place with client BHP Billiton, for the supply of mining explosives over several years. Incitec CEO James Fazzino is set to comment on the strategy of the group when he releases its 2011-12 profit data in mid-November.
