Wesfarmers' retail therapy

Nov 04, 2012 (Menafn - The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --Wesfarmers CEO Richard Goyder is pleased with the progress of his acquisition, retailer Coles Group. He said that the strategy has gone very close to plan in the five years since the deal was approved by shareholders on 7 November 2007. The conglomerate's revenue and EBIT have increased, but earnings per share and return on equity have declined. Coles has improved stores and service, but has more to do. Kmart has performed well, but the earnings of Target have fallen.
