BA flags end of Australia route

Oct 11, 2012 (Menafn - The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) --The decision by Qantas Airways to enter into a new deal with Emirates Airlines from March 2013 will mean the end after 17 years of the existing alliance with British Airways (BA) for the Australian carrier. BA has also signalled that it may withdraw from the route between the UK and Australia as a result, leaving Virgin Atlantic as the sole EU airline to operate such flights. BA has made a submission on the Qantas-Emirates proposal to the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, but parts of it have been censored prior to the public release.
