BRIEF: Friday night football spotlight: Glencoe at No. 9 Aloha

Nov 08, 2012 (Menafn - The Oregonian - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Glencoe Crimson Tide (6-4) at No. 9 Aloha Warriors (7-2), 7 p.m.: After finishing fifth in the Pacific Conference, the Crimson Tide of Hillsboro ran over visiting Barlow 28-17 in last week's play-in round to reach the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons.

Glencoe will have its hands full trying to slow down Aloha's Thomas Tyner, the Metro League offensive player of the year who has 239 carries for 2,800 yards -- an average of 11.7 yards per carry -- and 36 touchdowns (35 rushing, one receiving) in nine games.

Tyner was named the state's Class 6A offensive player of the year as a sophomore when Aloha won the 2010 state title, but missed last year's playoffs because of a hairline fracture in his right ankle.
