Mall troubles ease

Oct 10, 2012 (Menafn - The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --Investment bank Goldman Sachs has predicted that calendar 2012 will be a better year for Australian retailers than 2011. A report by the group has found that 558 retailers have endured difficulties so far in 2012. In 2011, this figure reached 1,060. The data is good news for retail landlords, as is the Reserve Bank of Australia's decision to reduce interest rates in October 2012. Jones Lang LaSalle says a recovery in demand for retail space is likely to be gradual.
