US factory orders rise 1% to USD474b


(MENAFN) US Department of Commerce stated that new orders for US manufactured goods climbed 1 percent to USD474 billion in April, reported Xinhua News. The department also said that the USD4.9 billion climb came after a 4.7 percent drop in the previous month. The Department of Commerce also added that orders for durable goods and items expected to last for 3 years or more rose to USD222.7 billion, a 3.5 percent rise, while new orders for nondurable goods declined 1 percent to 251.3 billion in April.
