Qatar Petroleum, GDI sign USD466m extension contract


(MENAFN) Gulf Drilling International Ltd (GDI) stated that is signed a USD466 million extension contract with Qatar Petroleum (QP) to continue using two drilling rigs owned by GDI, reported Arabian Business. GDI, a subsidiary of Gulf International Services, also said that The contracts signed with the Qatari firm extend the service of two offshore rigs for five years. It is worth noting that Gulf Drilling International Ltd. was established in 2004 as the first onshore and offshore oil and gas drilling company in Qatar, and was formed as a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (QP 60%) and Japan Drilling Co. (JDC 40%).
