40,000 drug pills found on Kuwaiti woman


(MENAFN- Arab Times)  Customs officers at Kuwait International Airport arrested a Kuwaiti woman, who came from Syria, for smuggling 40,000 narcotic pills into the country. The officers got suspicious of the movement of a woman wearing 'niqab' to hide her face, so they inspected her luggage thoroughly, leading the discovery of the abovementioned quantity of narcotic pills. She was referred to the Drug Control General Department for questioning and other legal action. Airport Customs Supervisor Suleiman Al-Fahad mentioned that all people are equal before the law, and for such purpose, the well-trained employees are always on alert to uncover drug smuggling or trafficking operations. Meanwhile, Ahmadi securitymen arrested an Asian man in Mangaf for trading in locally brewed alcohol with 126 bottles in his possession. The suspect tried to escape when he noticed a checkpoint in the area but the officers chased and arrested him. He allegedly tried to bribe the officers and offered them KD 2,000 in exchange for his release but the former rejected the offer. The suspect was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
