Indian Reliance Industries to invest USD26b over 3 years


(MENAFN) Indian giant Reliance Industries' Chairman, Mukesh Ambani, stated that the company plans of investing around USD26 billion over 3 years, reported Times of Oman. Ambani also said that the investment was the company's largest ever. He added that the company plans more projects once global economy recovers. The investment came at a time when the Indian economy was facing a slowdown. The Chairman added that the energy giant has been looking to expand from oil and gas into hotels, retailing, communications, and financial services as part of its diversification plans. It is worth noting that Mukesh Ambani is India's wealthiest man, and his firm Reliance Industries is the country's largest private firm.
