UAE- Chronic desease drugs costs down 40%


(MENAFN) An assistant undersecretary at the UAE's Ministry of Health, Dr Amin Al Amiri, stated that the prices of chronic disease treatment medicines went down 40 percent in June, reported The National. Al Amiri also said that the price cuts included more than 6600 drugs or 94 percent of all available drugs to treat conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. The doctor added that the Ministry of Health found out through a study that UAE medicine prices were higher than prices in neighbouring countries and thus decieded to cut prices and had the cooperation of pharmaceutical companies.
