Kuwait- Many arrested for traffic violations


(MENAFN- Arab Times)  Traffic sector, in its continuing campaign against road recklessness, have arrested many motorists for various traffic violations. According to statistics issued by Hawalli Traffic Department, about 26,405 citations were issued for different traffic offenses in the month of May, which included the crossing of red signal, driving on emergency lanes, carrying passengers with non-commercial vehicles, excessive speeding and parking in unauthorized places, in addition to the use of mobile phone while driving. During those campaigns, 476 vehicles were taken to the garages of the Ministry of Interior, and 287 motorists were placed in detention. Officers had also dealt with 147 traffic accidents and secured 42 service orders. Meanwhile, a team of officers from Hawalli Traffic Department and police in civilian clothes have been conducting operations across the governorate, following complaints from several road users over the alarming rate of traffic violations observed on the roads.
