UAE- DEC researchers complete CCPIT training plan


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  Two Emirati researchers from the Economic Research and Policy Centre, the operational arm of the Dubai Economic Council (DEC) recently completed a training program organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Eshraq Al Maamari and Niama Al Ali participated in the Arab International Chambers of Commerce training program which took place in Beijing, from April 25 to May 16, 2013. 23 delegates from eight Arab countries also participated in the programme which aimed to promote personnel exchange in experiences and enhance cooperation of business organisations between China and the Arab countries. The programme consisted of several training courses that centered around China's economic development, regional economic conditions and investment opportunities with Arab countries. In addition, the program also consisted of attending the international Halal food Exhibition, Halal food certification training and meeting with the local governments in each province that was visited. Shaikha Mona Al Moalla, DEC chief operating officer of strategic planning and operations said that the programmes were a result of the strategic collaboration between the DEC and CCPIT. The partnership between the entities seeks to strengthen ties between the two countries through exchanging experiences, sharing knowledge and data with economic decision-making and economic policy research centers in China in a direction that boosts economic relations between the UAE and China. A number of activities were scheduled for the participants which included a seminar with the local government in Xining, a meeting with the CCPIT branch in Xining, a trade and investment round table meeting of the Muslim Chambers of Commerce, a meeting with local governments in Tangshan and Datong, and a visit to several manufacturing facilities.
