40% of Iran's electricity generated from private sector


(MENAFN) Mohammad Behzad, Iranian deputy energy minister, stated that the country's private sector made up 40 percent of Iran's total electricity generation, reported Tehran Times. Behzad also said that Iran imported 3.968 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in 2012, an 8 percent increase compared to the previous year. It is worth noting that around USD57 billion is being invested in Iran's power generation sector. Moreover, Iran trades power with Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan.
