kuwait- Illegals, flesh traders, liquor peddlers among 80 arrested


(MENAFN- Arab Times)   A total of 80 persons were arrested in a series of campaigns carried out in different locations throughout the country for violating the Residency Law and engaging in prostitution. Nine men and 13 women of Asian nationalities were among those arrested for practicing prostitution. Among the 80 people arrested 50 were found in violation of residency law while 30 were involved in flesh trade. In a press statement Sunday, the Ministry of Interior confirmed the surprise inspection campaigns will continue as part of its commitment to track down criminals and those who violate the Residency Law. The ministry has advised the public to strictly comply with the law and carry their identification documents at all times to avoid any legal problem. Maid abducted: The sponsor of an Indonesian housemaid has reported to the security authorities that some unidentified persons allegedly kidnapped the housemaid while she was on her way to a cooperative society in Riqqa. The sponsor told police he received a call from the housemaid three hours after she left the house. She was crying and begging her sponsor to save her as she was abducted by unidentified persons. The sponsor provided police with the telephone number that the housemaid used when she called to inform him about the alleged abduction. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to find the housemaid.
