India, Thailand to speed up FTA plans


(MENAFN) Thai news agency stated that Thailand and India agreed during bilaterla talks between the two Prime Ministers to move faster towards establishing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), reported Xinhua News. The plans to speed up the process where agreed upon during an official visit of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to his Thai counterpart, according to the agency. The two governments believe that the FTA would further improve investment and trade ties between the two countries. It is worth mentioning that the visit also resulted in a signing of seven agreements, two of which were a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to counter money laundering as well as an extradition treaty.
