Japan, Mozambique sign first investment accord


(MENAFN) Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida signed an investment accord with Mozambique's Minister of Planning and Development Aiuba Cuereneia in the beginning of June, reported Xinhua News. The accord is the first of its kind between Japan and a a sub-Saharan country, and marks an important step in the economic cooperation between the two countries. The world's third largest economy signed the accord during the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V). Japanese local media reported that Japan is considering similar accords to be signed with Ghana and Kenya.
