(MENAFN- Arab Times) Â An Egyptian national was arrested recently at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle 20,000 narcotic pills into the country.
According to sources, customs officers at the airport suspected the passenger who arrived from Egypt and checked him to find the narcotic pills wrapped in a cloth and tied around his legs.
He was arrested and referred with the drugs to the concerned authorities for necessary action against him.
Meanwhile, the customs officers at the airport foiled the attempt of some individuals to smuggle imitations of branded items into the country. They were arrested and referred to the concerned authorities.
Director General of General Customs Department Ibrahim Al-Ghanim appreciated the effective methods used by the customs officers to check the passengers at the airport. He also appreciated the Supervisor of the Customs Department at Kuwait International Airport Sulaiman Al-Fahad for his laudable efforts.
Teen threatens dad: Police are looking for a 17-year-old for allegedly threatening to kill his father and vandalizing his vehicle, reports Al-Rai daily.
A case has been filed at an unidentified police station. The father has provided police information about his son.
Woman call trader: The Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police recently raided an apartment and arrested an unidentified Ethiopian woman who was running the apartment to sell illegal overseas calls to expatriates, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The arrest came following a tip-off by an unidentified police agent. However, at the time of the arrest police did not find anyone else. Police have seized from the woman phones, stop watches and some money.
Trio held with drugs: Police have arrested three men - one Kuwaiti and two Egyptians - for possessing cigarettes filled with drugs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The men were taken into custody in Sabhan. The daily added the men were arrested on suspicion and at the time of checking their IDs police discovered they looked confused.
Police then searched their vehicle and found the drugs. They have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.
