Saudi to boost King Khaled Int'l Airport's capacity


(MENAFN) Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation's (GACA) spokesman, Khaled Al-Khaibary, stated that the authority will increase the capacity of Riyadh's King Khaled International Airport to accommodate 35 million people, reported Arabian Business. Al-Khaibary added that work to expand the facility will take 5 years, and will comprise the re-development of the closed terminal 4, in addition to building a new fifth terminal. Furthermore, the authority plans to privatize the airport, which will be linked to Riyadh's upcoming metro network. It is worth noting that 17.7 million passengers traveled through King Khaled International Airport in 2012.
