UAE- Jebel Hafeet death mystery solved

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Abu Dhabi Police have solved the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of an Emirati citizen whose body was found inside a car that plummeted from the Jebel Hafeet mountain in Al Ain earlier this month. Two suspects have been arrested after the police sensed foul play upon discovering the body, which was positioned in the back of the car, with no passenger in the driving seat. The police announced in a statement that its investigation teams managed to arrest the two suspects, 27-year-old Emirati, A.Y. and his accomplice, 26-year-old African, A.Y. The three individuals, the two suspects and the now deceased, were taking drugs, when one of the suspects injected the victim with an overdose of heroin after which point, the victim lost consciousness. Later, the victim's corpse was put in the car and then dumped from the top of Jebel Hafeet, making the incident appear as a traffic accident. However, this cover-up did not fool the alert police as it was soon discovered that the victim in the car was deceased several hours before the car fell from the mountain. The police formed an investigation team to solve the mysterious circumstances of the incident. The investigations carried out by the Abu Dhabi Police revealed that the second suspect gave his friend an injection of drugs. When the vehicle that they were driving reached a traffic signal in Al Ain city, the head of their friend suddenly fell between the two front seats. The first suspect then used a razor to cut the fingers of the victim to make him bleed, in an effort to reduce the level of drugs in his body, however, they failed to resuscitate him. The investigation records reported that the two suspects took their unconscious friend to a resort and carried him on their shoulders into a villa. The next morning the two suspects left the resort after realising their friend was dead. The first suspect left his own car for his accomplice and told him to take the body and leave it in front of the deceased's family home. However, the second suspect disposed of the car with the dead body inside by dumping it from the top of Jebel Hafeet, with the hope of hiding the crime. Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali warned youths of the negative repercussions of keeping bad company and taking drugs. He pointed out that the country does not spare any effort in assisting addicts through its specialised rehabilitation centres for those seeking treatment from addiction. He further added that drug addiction services are free of charge and no legal liability would ensue.
