Kuwait- 25 people detained for traffic offenses


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The General Traffic Department organized a series of impromptu campaign across the six governorates at the weekend and registered 10,635 citations, impounded 367 vehicles plus 18 motorbikes, and detained 52 people. In the Capital, officers recorded 1,903 citations, seized 51 vehicles and detained 25 people for traffic offenses. They registered 1,149 citations and impounded 40 vehicles in Farwaniya, while the campaign in Hawalli led to the registration of 2,100 citations. In Ahmadi, 1,122 citations were recorded and 26 vehicles were towed to the garages of the ministry. The officers registered 305 citations and seized 4 vehicles in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, and issued 1,210 citations, impounded 55 vehicles and detained 9 motorists in Jahra. Meanwhile, traffic officers at the Operations Unit registered 2,549 citations, seized 198 vehicles, seized 18 motorbikes and detained 16 persons, while operation at the airport led to issuance of 297 citations and impounding of 2 vehicles.
