UAE- Bus attendant acquitted of molesting schoolboy

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  A bus attendant has been cleared of molesting a six-year-old schoolboy on the journey from home to school. The Court of First Instance found the defendant, a 23-year-old Indian, not guilty of the molestation charge in which he was believed to have touched the boy, an Emirati, from behind, hugged him and made him sit in his lap. According to prosecution records, the incident dates back to February 12. The boy's sister said that on that day she and her brother took the bus to school as usual with two other companions, a girl and boy, 7 and 4. But she soon realised that they had forgotten to take their pocket money from their mother and she asked the bus attendant to let them step off. But he would not. She asked him to let them call their mother to tell her to bring the money to them but he did not agree to that also. They all sat in the back seats of the bus. The attendant then asked the four-year-old boy to go to him and when he refused, the defendant went to the back. He then allegedly touched the cheek and the arm of the seven-year-old girl, but she pushed him away. The girl pushed the accused away and told him to stop when he allegedly touched her cheek and arm. The accused then tried to give her six-year-old brother some small coins, but he did not accept them. When the bus reached the school and as they were about to step out, the defendant allegedly touched the boy, 6, from behind, hugged him and made him sit on his lap. But all the four youngsters slapped him, the girl recalled in the investigation.
