(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Â A 30-year-old Asian who allegedly stabbed his compatriot (33) to death has been arrested in less than four hours after the crime was reported to Al Jimi Police Station in Al Ain. The victim's body was found in a pool of blood at Hili Industrial Area in Al Ain.
Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director of Al Ain Police Directorate said the alleged murderer, identified as S.S.R. had some personal disputes with the victim, M.Z., who worked as assistant electrician with a general maintenance company. The accused lured M.Z. to meeting him at Hili Industrial Area, and before reaching the place a heated argument ensued between the two. On reaching the place the suspect drew out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the abdomen until he breathed his last, Al Amimi said.
Al Jimi Police Station received a call from a person saying that he found a dead body of a man lying on the ground at the sandy area near Hili Eastern Industrial Area, Al Amimi noted, adding that, the police rushed to the scene to examine the body, and ascertain the authenticity of the call.
"The scene of the crime was cordoned off and examined by the specialists of the police station", he said, adding that, the report was referred to the criminal investigation department (CID), where a team was formed to find and identify the perpetrator.
The alleged killer, S.S.R., who was a colleague of the victim had pre-planned the murder, Al Amimi said, noting that, the suspect had planned to flee the country after committing the murder.
Investigations showed that the suspect had collected all his wages and end of service benefits from the same company where he and the victim were working, and had also relocated to another neighbourhood to avoid any kind of suspicion on him.
CID identified the new residence of the alleged killer at Al Niyadat neighbourhood, from where he was arrested in less than two hours, shortly before he was scheduled to leave the country.
