Brazilian gov't controlling inflation rate


(MENAFN) Brazil's President, Dilma Rousseff, stated that the government is controlling the inflation rate, although it has recently surpassed the 6.5-percent upper limit, reported Xinhua News. Brazil's inflation has also exceeded the target set for the current year, which is 4.5 percent. The president said that Brazil will implement tax cuts and at the same time it will increase investments in infrastructure. It is worth noting that the country's annual basic interest rate Selic rose by 0.25 percentage point recently, standing at 7.5 percent.
