(MENAFN) Yemen's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Mohammed al-Sa'adi, stated that his country is to receive a USD25 million grant from the World Bank (WB) to be injected in the Social Fund for Development (SFD), reported Qatar News Agency.

Al-Sa'adi added that the amount will be used to provide 4-month jobs for more than 5,000 Yemenis with a monthly salary reaching USD400, as part of the SFD 4th phase.

According to WB Country Director for Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti, Hartwig Schafer, the grant will enhance the performance level of the fund's intensive work program in the country.

The Yemeni minister said that the WB is realizing its financial commitments pledged to Yemen in the Riyadh donor meeting.
