UAE- Renovations at The Walk under way

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubai Properties Group, or DPG, a member of Dubai Holding, announced that it is making significant enhancements to its flagship destination, The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence, or JBR. The work is being funded and managed by DPG, and is designed to further improve the attractiveness of The Walk and JBR for residents, visitors and tourists. Work has already started on the enhancements with significant upgrades being made to the entire Walk area as well as the Plaza level in JBR's Bahar and Rimal areas. DPG is also addressing concerns regarding traffic and pedestrian flows in and around JBR and The Walk by creating connectivity points with future tram stops. "The Walk at JBR is a key Dubai destination attracting over 10 million visitors per year. These new enhancements are designed to benefit residents and visitors whilst supporting our long-term vision for The Walk to become a world-class landmark street location, much like Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, Las Ramblas in Barcelona, Promenade des Anglais in Nice and the Croisette in Cannes," DPG group chief executive officer Khalid Al Malik said. Enhancements include new shaded areas to the many food, beverage and retail outlets at street level, as well as improved streetscaping and access to the Plaza level via escalators leading to new and enhanced retail facilities. DPG is also making significant upgrades to the Plaza level areas at Bahar and Rimal to comprise new children's play areas, as well as the creation of dedicated private areas for residents.
