UAE- Business leaders gather for key African forum today


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The two-day Africa Global Business Forum, or AGBF 2013, starts today in Dubai, under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The high-profile forum will be attended by a large number of delegates, including African and local policymakers and business leaders. The forum opens with speeches by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy; Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Amelia Kyambadde, Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives of Uganda and chairperson of the Comesa Council of Ministers; and Heba Salama, Director of the Comesa Regional Investment Agency. The speeches will be followed a keynote address by Amama Mbabazi, Prime Minister of Uganda. Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, UAE Minister of State and managing director of the Dubai Expo 2020 Executive Bid Committee, will lead the first plenary session on government initiatives and business prospects in Africa, highlighting the opportunities the Dubai Expo 2020 bid presents to African businesses.
