Google buys up Wavii App


(MENAFN) Google announced that it has completed a USD30 million deal to buy up a news summarization app, Wavii, reported Zacks. Microsoft, Facebook and Paypal investors are among those who have helped fund the startup at launch. The importance of news reading apps is currently on the rise, as Google and Yahoo both aim to integrate social media with news. It is worth noting that Apple had considered acquiring Wavii in order to further advance its Siri voice application.
