Canada- Teck Resources' Q1 adjusted profit dives 40%


(MENAFN) Canada's Teck Resources Ltd stated that the company's adjusted profit plunged by 40 percent in the first quarter, reported Reuters. The country's largest diversified miner said that earnings declined to USD319.64 million, compared with USD530.14 million a year before. It attributed the drop to lower coal prices, noting that economic uncertainty may have an impact on prices and exports. It is worth noting that in the quarter, profit attributable to shareholders grew to USD310.66 million, up from USD251.43 million.
