Qatar- Contractor to blame for airport's delay: Al Baker


(MENAFN) Akbar Al Baker, head of Qatar Airways, stated that the reason behind the delay in the inauguration of Hamad International Airport (HIA) was the failure of Bechtel, the airport's main contractor, to meet newly introduced safety and security requirements, reported Arabian Business. Al Baker said that the airport which should have been operational by April 1st, would be launched by the end of the current year. Al Baker did not confirm whether legal compensation would be demanded from the contractor.
