Shell showcases advanced aviation technology solutions at WTTC


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Demonstrating its continued commitment to support the regional aviation industry's rapid growth, Shell, one of the world's leading aviation fuel suppliers, showcased its advanced aviation solutions at the 13th annual World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit, which took place in Abu Dhabi recently. Co-hosted by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and Etihad Airways, the global summit promoted sustainable growth for the aviation industry, working with governments and international institutions to create jobs, drive exports and contribute to economic growth. One of the world's most influential travel and tourism events, the summit's keynote address was delivered by Bill Clinton, former president of the United States and founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation. According to research released by the WTTC, in the UAE the growing tourism industry accounts for approximately 14 per cent of the economy, with growth forecast to be well above the global average of nine per cent per annum. This is enabled in great part by the country's leading airlines including Etihad Airways, one of the world's fastest growing companies.
