(MENAFN- Arab Times) A Sri Lankan expatriate was arrested recently for punching the face of his Filipina girlfriend in public.
According to security sources, when the Operation Room of Ministry of Interior received calls from passersby about an angry Sri Lankan man who was hitting his Filipina girlfriend in public, securitymen rushed to the location and arrested the suspect. They also referred the woman to the police station for investigations.
During interrogations, he informed securitymen that his girlfriend has been ignoring his calls for two days, which forced him to wait outside her workplace in one of the private schools in Hawally. As soon as she stepped out of the school gate, he started slapping and punching her face. Passersby stopped him and notified the police.
The Filipina woman revealed that the suspect had no intentions of marrying her and was merely interested in an illicit affair with her. When he saw her with some Filipino men, he accused her of betraying him, which was the reason why she did not answer his calls.
Necessary legal measures were taken against them.
