Singapore receives LNG from Qatargas

(MENAFN) Qatargas CEO, Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, stated that the company has handed over a cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Singapore, its first to the South East Asian country, reported Arabian Business. Al-Thani said that the UMM SLAL, the Q-Max LNG carrier that conveyed the LNG, started her voyage from Ras Laffan Port on March 17, with nearly 200,000 cubic meters of LNG onboard. He added that the shipment was delivered to Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd's (SLNG) first LNG receiving terminal at Jurong Island, noting that establishing the terminal is a vital milestone as it enables Singapore to meet the rising demand for energy. It is worth noting that the Singapore LNG Terminal is South East Asia's second LNG terminal to receive cargo from Qatargas.
