(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Modern Gulf Institute (MGI) recently hosted a client Teambuilding Luncheon (at the Civil Aviation Club) for their esteemed clients. The HR Teams from various corporate companies were invited to attend a morning of teambuilding with a focus on health & safety and strategic goal setting, this was followed by lunch, whereby all the delegates got the opportunity to network further and discuss the morning's events.
The activities were designed around setting SMART Goals (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound) and the delegates had the opportunity to participate in some fun activities related to HSE and goal-setting.
Nicole Smart, MGI's host, said, ''Goal setting is a great way to motivate personnel to increase their sense of direction, focus, confidence and capability in all areas of their personal and professional lives. This can lead to increased work performance, greater process output, larger profits and generally greater overall performance for organisations.''
The HR Department is the driving force behind goal setting and performance management in any organisation. They are responsible for motivating and encouraging staff in career and self-development, and this cannot be done without clear and concise goals in place.
The team building activities proved this, as once the participants had one common objective and worked together as a team, they successfully managed to complete all their tasks.
The day was an overall success and everyone enjoyed themselves, stating that they had learn't a great deal and enjoyed the opportunity to network and interact with others.
