China receives 1,000th aircraft from Boeing

(MENAFN) Boeing Company Northeast Asia senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ihssane Mounir, announced that the US plane maker handed over its 1,000th aircraft to China, a Next-Generation 737-800, reported Xinhua News. Mounir said that the delivery makes China Boeing's first market to exceed the 1,000 brink outside the US. He added that Boeing will be delivering more than 170 airplanes to China in 2013, up by 60 percent from 2012. Meanwhile, China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Company's general manager, Shi Fukang, stated that the newest plane will be joining the carrier's fleet, which is the largest 737 fleet among Chinese airlines. It is worth noting that the Next-Generation 737 uses an advanced system called Head-up Display, which includes a transparent glass display positioned between the pilot's eye and flight deck window to show vital information like airspeed, altitude and attitude, in addition to flight path.
